Return of the Daggertooth

By Wyatt Fournier, NOAA Fisheries, on the Northwestern Explorer

We once again encountered the Pacific Daggertooth, this time with a full stomach. It’s not clear if it swallowed the juvenile Chinook salmon before or after being trapped in the net. It is clear, however, that the Dagertooth has a big appetite. The Chinook was quite a catch weighing in at 140g and the Daggertooth was just 340g.
